A. At Foremost Restoration LLC we have over 40 years in all phases of both commercial and residential construction backed with a solid educational background.
Q. Are You Insured?
A. Yes, We are licensed, bonded and insured for your protection. We carry a 2 million general liability policy and workman’s compensation. We encourage homeowners that if you do not use Foremost Restoration LLC to stay with a local contractor that has workman’s compensation. This protects the homeowner against any worksite accidents.
Q. Are you a member in good standings with the Better Business Bureau?
A. Yes, We currently have an “A” rating with the Better Business Bureau.
Q. Do I get a warranty from Foremost Restoration?
A. Yes, at the time of your final inspection foremost restoration will go over warranty and any applicable manufacturer warranties.
Q. How long do the repairs take?
A. This varies greatly depending first on how fast your insurance company approves your claim. Once approved and funded we will move quickly to start work. Other factors affecting the duration will be timely selection of replacement materials, weather conditions and scope of work.
Q. Can you provide me with references?
A. Yes, One of the first things our representatives provide when they begin the inspection process is our list of references.
Q. What is my time frame for filing a claim?
A. Most insurance companies have a limited claim period. Typically, if you have not files a claim and had repairs complete within one year, they are not required to fully indemnify you for your loss. Some insurance companies we work with only allow six months to complete all repairs to your house from the “storm date” of loss. You should file a claim as soon as possible to make certain that all the work will be completed before the insurance deadline and to prevent any additional damages.
Q. I can’t see any hail damage to my roof, how do I know if my roof is damaged?
A. Hail damage is not something that can be seen from the ground. It takes a trained eye to see hail bruising on your shingles. We offer free inspections performed by our professionally trained roof inspectors. Call today for a free inspection.
Q. Is it possible to upgrade my roof?
A. Yes, Often times the homeowner will elect to upgrade from a 3-tab standard shingle to a dimensional shingle.
Q. Does Foremost Restoration only do roofing?
A. No, we are a full service general contractor who specializes in roofing, siding, gutters, fascia, garage doors, exterior doors, insulation, interior drywall, painting and all aspects of storm damage restoration.
Q. Can you meet with my insurance adjuster?
A. Yes, all of our representatives are trained in Xactimate. This is Estimating Software, which is a software program that approximately 85% of insurance companies use. Our representatives are available to meet with your adjuster and assist you with your insurance claim.
Q. Why do you need to meet the insurance adjuster?
A. We meet with the insurance adjuster to discuss the damage to your home, point out items we noticed and discuss the overall scope of loss. We have a professional relationship with adjusters from all insurance companies. In these meetings we represent your best interests.
Q. What is the scope of Loss?
A. This is a document produced by the insurance adjuster once an on-site inspection is conducted. The final document is an itemized list of damages to your home from the storm event. We work on your behalf to make sure the scope of loss is complete.
Q. What is the scope of Work?
A. This is the direct result of the scope of loss. From the adjusters scope and ours scope of loss we create a scope of work to complete the restoration.
Q. What is Depreciation?
A. Depreciation is simply the amount deducted from the insurance settlement based on the age the materials being replaced. Don’t worry this is not out of pocket for you with a replacement cost policy. The insurance company releases the depreciation amount at the end of the restoration once foremost restoration sends all the paperwork to the insurance company.
Q. What is a Supplemental?
A. This occurs when additional damage is discovered in the course of completing repairs on the original scope of loss. For example if damaged siding is being replaced and it is discovered that damaged occurred behind the siding supplement is submitted by us to the insurance company to increase the scope of loss and fund the repairs. Any monies allocated in a Supplement are due to Foremost Restoration LLC.
Q. What is O & P?
A. This is another insurance term and refers to the allowance made in the insurance settlement for the overhead and profit. Overhead and profit are funds often times added to the end of the project by the insurance company. This is part of the final proceeds paid to Foremost Restoration LLC.
Q. Do you put a sign in my yard?
A. Typically we do put a sign in the yard for the duration of the construction. This helps with material delivery and allows us to market our services.
Q. Will my insurance premium increase if I file a claim?
A. Typically your premium will not increase because the damage to your home is a result of a natural disaster that has been declared a catastrophe and the event causing your damage were beyond your control.
